a day of lotsa driving, car shopping and snotty sales people..

yesterday..it was quite a fun sunday out with the whole family. went out early..me & my sis took turns to drive the car! my dad's huge mpv..the 2.5l nissan presage..one big heck of a vehicle..
but surprisingly easy to steer and control. hope i didn't look stupid at the wheel though!
my driving was mostly quite ok except for this particular incident where i focused too much on this van beside me..i kinda veered off course..came TOO CLOSE to the van but my dad..who was sitting beside me grabbed the wheel & steered the car back in lane!
*mleeehhh*
close call lehh...aiyooo..
but ya what matters is i knew where i went wrong

anyways we checked out Daihatsu, Chevrolet, Toyota and Kia. the car models we checked out are all quite similar..relatively small cars..most of them hatchbacks and all about the same price.
we've worked out a way to pay off the car..i'll definitely be contributing and so i think we will get one in the next few months =P

the sales people who attened to us at each of the showrooms were all quite nice..except for the ones at Toyota..
goodness..
i've NEVER seen SO many crappy sales people with rubbish attitudes in one small space before.
terrible. we got to the showroom to check out the Vios..get brochures..ask about the price package and all but when we got there..NO ONE spoke to us..NO ONE stepped forward to ask if we needed any help. ok if they didn't approach me or my sis..that's forgivable..we do look abit young to be buying cars..but not for my mum of dad? NO ONE attended to them. can you believe that? and the dumbest thing is that the showroom wasn't crowded and the whole lot of sale people (10 at least)..all congregated around this desk..having their own chat fest!
*sigh*
no one even smiled at us when we stepped into the showroom..which is just gross
so yeah..they lost a potential customer coz my dad was actually intending to get a toyota coz the fuel consumption is known to be relatively low

pity.

if you're one of the snotty toyota salesman/woman we saw yesterday..do something about your attitude ya? just coz you think people won't be buying cars this mth - coz of the 7th mth or what not.. doesn't mean you don't have to deal with customers when them step into your showroom.
i mean service ISN'T about YOUR opinion whether or not one will buy your product? i bet all the employees working there yesterday had the "aiyah...if you really want to buy the car..you will come to me and enquire one laaa" attitude

nonsense.

thankfully Toyota wasn't the last showroom we visited..it would have been such a spoiler at the end of the day. the last showroom we went was Kia..and the service we got there was great. this very friendly lady attended to us..very helpful.
so yea..we just might call her back soon =P

vanity post..

yes my vanity post...i'm gonna rant about my hair
so RUN if you think i'm wasting your time!

with the help of my lovely sis..i got my hair dyed on saturday! she got hers done too!
it was chemical-stinky & pretty messy but it turned out quite well

i've had dyed FRIED hair for YEARS..since i was..17?
i've forgotten what it was like to have undyed black hair!
anywaysss
you wouldn't believe what i've done to my hair and how much money i've spent over the last 7 years..i've dyed it various shades of brown..highlights..i've even rebonded my hair..TWICE
for those who're still reading and don't know what rebonding is...it is essentionally

$$$ + chemicals + hot flat iron + painful butt (frm sitting for hours at a salon chair)
= flat straight hair (ooo..aaahh... -_-!)

yeshhh..i did that and it didn't work..for some weird reason..my hair refuses to be rebonded
coz there was no point in the last 7 years was my hair ever flat ironed straight

i was actually talked into having a straight perm done coz apparently the "effects of the rebonding" was wearing out..and my "natural curls" were starting to grow out. since rebonding is a very drying process..straight perming will be abit better for my hair.
so yes..what is a straight perm you may ask?

$$$ + chemicals + weird flat plastic strips in your hair for hours + more painful butt
= straight hair

and no that didn't work very well either. my hair went back to curling in places

so blah blah blah...lots of chemicals
i was pretty vain back then but over the recent years i had enough of dye..sometimes i feel like my brain cells are frying when i dye my hair coz the chemicals sting..so i gave up on subjecting my hair to stress.
i've also had enough of my hairdresser-the one who has been bugging me to dye here dye there do this do that blah blah blah..
it's like after so much work & $$ spent my hair doesn't look very fantastic..it's dry from all the chemicals..so yaa i decided to let my natural hair grow out

so now you must be wondering why the heck would i DIY dye my hair again?
coz i had a head of light brown hair with very dark roots..too weird and quite ugly
so hence the box of dark brown hair dye..cover everything up so it'll be easier on the eye while my hair grows

ok we've come to the end of my silly hair post
hope i didn't bore ya

it's friday!
it's quite a slow moving day at the office..coz i completed the drawings i was supposed to prepare 2 days ago! i was quite proud of myself for that..i actually kinda miss drawing although it drove me nuts at one point. =P
but!
i heard yesterday some complaints about my drawings yesterday..
complaints that i thought were out of point and unfair..not that i'm so full of pride i can't take any kind of negative comments BUT i don't think it was justified
COZ
the drawings show how we want certain sheets of metal to be cut
they were sent to the laser cutting company and it's their job to input the information we gave them - the drawings..so that their machine can be programmed to cut the sheet metal we sent to them.
BUT this lady..the usual lady who liases with our company..called to say our drawing cannot be drawn 'that' way coz it doesn't show the order of how the metal should be cut - that is nonsense! coz the only way i can do that is if i had the same laser cutting software & machine as them BUT if we really had that..why the need to go through them when we can do that ourselves?!
and they also complained we didn't indicate how many of a certain hole we wanted..THIS is my fault..i checked and yes i left that little detail out but still
i just thought her first complaint was weird.. *hmmpfffttt*
yaa so abit bleh to receive such feedback

anyways
i just remembered this incident that happened last week..that i wanted to blog about..that i actually started a blog to type it down..that actually slipped my mind while i started to blog
-_-!!
terrible eh?
so i'm just gonna keep it short & sweet before i forget..AGAIn..
i think it was last wednesday. i was out with my sis..out at bugis. it was about 630 when we decided to head to the train station to go down to clementi to meet our parents.
this happened at bugis mrt station. we were waiting for the train when i noticed this man that walked past us..i dunno why i noticed him but i did. he was hovering somewhere in front of us. when the train came..he seemed to be trying to get into the same carriage as us..
you know...hesitating to enter a carriage coz we hadn't got on yet..
when we moved to the next door..he decided to do the same
but eventually got on a different carriage. so i thought..ok maybe i was too sensitive..
BUT Nooooo
at the next stop..alot of people got off..and as we were moving inside the carriage..we see the dude! he's now just next to us!?! me & my sis were like 'what the heck?!"
we moved away from him everytime there was an opportunity
but everytime we moved..he moved WITH us
can he make it any more obvious?!
the thing that disturbed us even more was..he was holding on to his camera phone- the new motorola touch screen phone. EVERYTIME we turn towards him..the camera is always pointed at us. he was holding his bag & camera in a weird way.
it was very obvious and it was sick. we were kicking ourselves for not doing anything
we got off the train eventually coz i couldn't take it anymore
i would give anything to be back in that carriage..humiliate him
ERGH
i still remember his face
he's prob in his late 20s or early 30s. not very tall..1.60++ less than 1.7. skinny..black side parted hair..black rimmed glasses. carries a huge black laptopish bag..and a freaking touch screen camera phone..looks damn scared when you stare at him..
if i see him again..i'm not going to let him off..

Oops.. i realised my account of the incident wasn't exactly short and sweet!
but ya anyone is welcome to go stalk the freak with me =P

the first ever bouquet i've received..i'm not kidding! i've NEVER been presented with a bouquet before in my life..until yesterday =) Posted by Picasa

quick update

let's see...my last post was on the 26th of july
so here are some "highlights" of the last few days..

27th - wednesday..hmm..i can't recall anything interesting so let's move on..

28th - thursday..oops..this is a bad idea coz my goldfish memory is kicking in and i can't recall stuff!!

ok forget the whole day by day thing
the thing is..i've been unofficially given new responsibility at work and i've been crazy busy since last thursday or friday. it's nuts coz when i work..i work a few hours straight nonstop and it's a change from my usual role..where i don't do anything remotely challenging
so although it tires me out..i love the change and for once i feel a real sense of accomplishment when it comes to work.

yay =)

i miss my friends
