last saturday was one of the most interesting weekends i've ever had in awhile! went down to changi for Asian Aerospace 2006 =P
the experience itself was fantastic..the airshow was THE highlight. though we were late..about 20mins late..BUT we were lucky coz made it there in time for the fighter planes!
i've never seen aircraft fly so near in front of me before! it was great! i'm not super into such stuff but yea..it really was quite an experience. the best part of it besides actually being there are watching these aircrafts zip around, was how happy my little sis was! she aspires to be a pilot in the future..she wants to be singapore's first woman fighter pilot! yay for her..we're all super supportive of her dream!
so that was really sweet.
besides running around..oogling at all the aircraft on display..
we got to sit in various vehicles and well..took quite some pics. Oh! and we posed with this really yummy looking american pilot! =P but us being silly girls..didn't stay to talk to him!
*smacks head* i think we were alittle giddy by then..from the insane heat.
oh the heat! it was SO bloody hot that day! i mean it was good that the sky was clear..especially for the airshow..but my goodness..it was really really hot! so all of us got alittle sunburnt.
i burnt my nose..my cheeks..my right shoulder..yikes! still hurts alittle now
but i guess it was worth it coz i've not had that much fun out and about and super perspirey in a LONG time!
we were there for more than 4 hours? yea..spent the entire afternoon there
and had to walk a LONg LONG way to the busstop..that would get us back to tampines..where we parked out car. oh talking about the car..i chose to leave the car at tampines mall coz according to this website..it was $2 per entry on saturdays.
we all got a huge shock when we accumulated a parking fee of $7.75!!!!!
well somebody lied! either the site of tampines mall decided to cheat people of money since they expected more people to park there and take a bus to get to the asian aerospace!!
anyway
on to the best part of the day..
2 priceless experiences.
the first one was at the AA 2006. there was a huge human jam at this particular section coz for some reason that i don't understand, people were trying to take pictures of minature planes.
MINATURE PLANES!
WHY WOULD THEY WANNA CROWD AROUND TO TAKE PICTURES OF MINATURE PASSENGER/CARGO PLANES WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER ACTUAL AIRCRAFT ON DISPLAY OUTSIDE?!
while we were trying to get to the next spot in the exhibition hall..we were stuck there for quite a while. you really couldn't move..there was THAT little space. so my sis..the little one..who's actually not so little..she's tougher than me..she was behind me. and at one point some auntie was pushing her. i could feel it and she looked really uncomfortable so i snapped!
i lashed out at the woman " Are you pushing?! Can you not push!? "
she looked alittle stunned but the pushing stopped.
-_-
i usually don't snap at people.
well that wasn't the end of it.
later on..when we were on the bus back to tampines. another thing happened.
i was sitting beside this man. jack was in front of me. cyn, my sis..was somewhere infront with celine. so a ffew stops after we boarded..this man..dressed in polo and pants..looked like he just knocked off work..got on. and decided to situate himself beside me.
the bus wasn't crowded. there were still some spots left to sit. i don't think anyone else was standing. naturally..i felt weird. it was uncomfortable. to have my personal space invaded like that. i was wary of the man beside me..constantly keeping a lookout. his bloody crotch was centimetres away. -_-
it got to a point where the centimetres were reduced to milimetres!!
by then i already got cyn's attention..and i was tempted to ask jack for help but
somehow somewhere i just couldn't take it anymore and i shouted
"EXCUSE ME. DO YOU MIND?!"
the dude immediately mumbled a sorry? and moved abit away.
apparently it was loud. i think the whole bus heard me. my sisters were very amused and very glad i did what i did! i was abit surprised myself but i'm very proud i stood up for myself. =P
anyways i figured out the reason for my outbursts.
PMS.
heheh..
i tend to snap at people a day before i get my thingie..
i've read reports that linked PMS to violence or something along that line.
i can now say that yes..it's very true.
i guess we're just irritable during that time..not that we mean to be mean. i try not to. coz not fair la..unless of course they deserve it!
i wonder if i would have reacted differently if i wasn't pms-ing.
i hope not! to give my raging hormones all the credit wouldn't be very fair! =P

word of yesterday : Bleurgh!
i've lost count of how many times i wanted to use that word yesterday. i know it's not an actual word but it really did express how i felt! =P
anywhoooooooosss...here's why..
LUNCH..
headed down to this foodcourt at woodlands' "vista point", a neighbourhood mini shopping mall.
couldn't decide what to eat so i settled for chicken rice, which turned out to be a bad choice.
yikes!
the dish arrived. it looked really messy. like everything was just slapped onto the plate..sauces were drizzled carelessly all over.
first impression truly sucked.
now comes the taste test.
the rice.. was odd. abit dry. wasn't fragrant. doesn't taste like authentic chicken rice.
the chicken.. was just boring. it was quite tender but that was the only good thing about it?
the sauce.. wasn't bad. wasn't good either.
the verdict?
i won't eat it again and certainly WILL NOT recommended to anyone even a starving person.
BLEURGH..
as if one bad meal wasn't enough..i was dealt another blow during dinner! come to think of it, i've never had more than one bad meal in a day!! coz i would some how find myself something good and reliable to make up for a bad meal.
hence the BLEURGH!
on to dinner..
went to j@ck's pl@ce at c@useway p0int..my mum suggested we should go there since it's been years since our last visit. we used to frequent the restaurant often with our cousins..which was really nice =)
i heard the place is good for steaks. unfortunately we don't eat beef so we had to settle for their seafood.
SO..
three different dishes were ordered.
1) fish & chips
2) lamb & fish combo
3) crayfish & chicken combo
my mum, who had the fish & chips, was quite happy with her food. she mentioned that the fish was quite good. so good for her.
my sis, cyn, had the lamb & fish. it came in a sizzling hot plate, the meats were drizzled with a black pepper sauce. it didn't smell appetizing despite the sizzles and sauce..well actually it didn't smell! it was served with a baked potato and some veggies on the side. the fish was ok but the lamb..alittle tough.
her verdict? the potato was the best part of the dish.
now on to the last dish. poor me & my little sis, celine. it was THE WORST dish on the table.
let me first describe the dish.
there was a piece of chicken, one crayfish, baked potato, cauliflower & carrots. all served on a hot plate. the first smell i picked up when the dish arrived..was the fishyness of the crayfish.
not exactly the best way to start off a meal.
anyways, i started off with the chicken. it was utterly disappointing!
there was no flavour what so ever! i mean..if they're not gonna marinate the chicken..the least they can do is cook it with a good gravy?! but the brilliant people behind the menu or the cook..whoever is responsible..decided that there's no need for marinate or gravy! it's like having chicken chop with no sauce.
for some reason they thought that a few strips of onion(there's probably less than 10)..cooked til they're brown..and alot of fried chopped garlic would be enough to enhance the taste of the slice of chicken and the crayfish.
don't even get me started on the crayfish. they fried it? whatever the did to it..they OVERDID it
it was dry and tough..quite unpleasant.
the only good thing about the dish was the carrots.
enough said. the carrots. simple boiled chopped up carrots was the best part of a dish of chicken and crayfish. can you believe that?!
so it's pretty damn obvious now..what my verdict would be.
BLEURGH!
i'm never going back there. i don't know about the other outlets though..but i'm not hopeful coz their menu isn't very spectacular..lacks variety, especially for people who don't eat beef. so i guess it's strictly a steak place.
BLEURGH!
OOps..just received a stack of stuff to do..so back to work!
have a good weekend!

Franz Ferdinand
they were good..they sang well and the music was FANTASTIC!
the whole concert experience was quite good except for when i was hit in my chest and then hit on head seconds later..but 2 separate people -_-!
2 enthusiastic arms waving in the air people.
don't worry..the one who hit my chest was a girl..so not too bad..although abit violated!

valentines
valentines.
so typical.
i certainly felt so walking about cityhall that day..
FORTUNATELY!
there was some bits of the evening that helped transform an otherwise hyped up commercial 'holiday' into something sweeter and alot more memorable =P
i received a pretty bouquet of pink tulips! which totally brighten up my evening, esp after working for hours in front of the comp that day for nearly 8 hours!
besides that..everyone has roses or lilies..while i got TULIPS! =P
we had tea & coffee at this little 'ulu' stall at clifford pier..just sat there and chilled. very nice..away from the 'waterfront of couples' - you should have seen! couple after couple after couple..sitting along the esplanade..and along the adjoining marina park..YIKES!
i got a book! i love to read but for some reason people don't buy me books!
it's called 'Angela Carter's Book of Fairy Tales'
i've been eyeing that book for quite awhile..mostly coz it's a very pretty looking book and well..i love fairy tales and it's a book full of tales from around the world =)
yay =)
i hope everyone enjoy their day..with or without a date
*hugs for all*

update! update!
One.
Gong Xi Fa Cai! i'm trying to sound as festive as i can..coz this time around..it was a very bland new year..it just wasn't as festive..even the nightly fireworks didn't do much to bring out the excitement. oh and i was feeling very ugly during the new year thanks to my period..i much prefer to call it my thingie..i was miserable..bloated..crampy. that was a very bleh 2 days for me.
Two.
the Franz Ferdinand tickets have been sold! finally! to 3 of Jack's school mates who saw his bulletin on friendster. i'm still going though..with my little sister.
Three.
i went to the backstreet boys concert on the 24th of January! =P
wow..quite an experience..it was nuts! sitting with a crowd of all sorts of people..screaming and singing along. brought back lots of memories..of the time when i was skinny geeky girl in secondary school. that's like almost 10 years ago!!!!
anyway i would have enjoyed the concert better if it was a more accoustic thing..i was disappointed they didn't even sing anything acapella.. i liked that most about them..not the silly dance moves..
Four.
my darling sis, Cyn..who is now part of NUS dance ensemble..big YAY for her..doubly big YAY for her landing the role of VP! =P
they are putting up a show on the 15th and 16th of Feb at NUS..one of the lecture halls. Admission is free and i think it starts at 7 or 730. i'm going on the 15th! anyone wanna come along..lemme know!!
Five.
Jason Mraz. yum. i adore the dude.
he'll be performing at the esplanade concert hall on the 17th of March..part of the Mosaic Music Festival. you cannot imagine how excited i am. i could hardly contain my excitement when i first read about it in Life! i've been such a fan since my uni days..discovered him on yahoo music..i think and i've been hooked since then! i NEVER thought he would EVER come here..but HE IS!!! and i have front row tickets!! *screams*
goodness...it's crazy..
anyways..it's a concert not to be missed. honestly. it's gonna be an intimate affair..it's gonna be just him and his guitar and this other guy Toca Rivera..who's like his percussionist/backup singer. i've watched clips of them singing together online..very nice.
whether you're a fan or not..you should go! unless of course you hate anything melodic and only like screamy or hoarse vocals..
ANYWAYS here's a link!
