DAMN you! BOOK VANDAL!

are you one of those that get pretty upset/ticked off when you find library books in a lousy state? vandalised..pages falling out..peeling covers..dog earred pages..mementos from the previous reader - receipts/unidentified stains..(ew)

anyway i picked up a book yesterday and was horrified to find it in a bad state..
it got worse once i flipped open the book
there were loads of pencil markings..mostly ticks..in the first 10 or so chapters of the book..

oh the horror..

the book is not yours laaa..stop treating it like your literature text can?!

as if that was not bad enough?
the book vandal apparently can't read roman numerals..

it's not a must to know how to read them but..he/she probably was alittle blind as well.. coz the chapter number? is printed in English on every top left corner of alternate pages..

by the way in case you were wondering, the roman numeral doesn't match the chapter number because the book is split up into 3 parts and each part starts with 'chapter 1'..

there are a total of 60 chapters but the guilty one gave up marking the chapters at 47.. well he/she either realised there was no need to mark or he/she just gave up on the book..

oh dear..
i have a feeling this book vandal didn't do all too well for literature

alright..i'm gonna go back to getting rid of the silly pencil markings now..

a little update..

well..we got ourselves a new maid.
my sister..i forgot which one (sorry!)..commented that in one day, she asked more questions then what the last maid did in a week..
so yea..she's alright..definitely has more initiative

oh dear..
i hated it..despite the positive message they were trying to send
but i just couldn't get over how fake most of them looked. it's like you can tell they are trying to look upset and concerned.
i think the creative one behind the concept tried to copy the 'one' campaign
unfortunately it didn't quite work..

anyway that's not the point.
i think it's apparent that the world we live in now isn't the same as it used to be.
in case you haven't noticed..the climate has sort of gone alittle extreme..
so if we don't at least try to do our part now..i can't imagine what it's gonna be like 20 years down the road..

after almost 2 months with us, we finally sent her back.
don't worry, we didn't leave her with no job. with the help of the agency, we found her another family for her to go to. this one also has 3 children but the oldest is only 12..plus the mum is a housewife so there will most likely be no more disappearing acts.

she was apparently upset. i heard that she tried to ask my mum to keep her but it's alittle too late coz the decision has been made.

we sent her back to the agency yesterday morning.
she was upset and she apologised and thanked my mum alot
and she kept saying she knew that she made a mistake..
well
i just hope she REALLY meant that and she does her job well for her new family.
