"1 bad dish.."
that was last saturday..but i never quite got around to posting it..till now!

i had lunch at S*k*e S*shi..nice place..the decor i mean
good company =P
but unfortunately..the dish i ordered was.. far from good.
i ordered this hotpot chicken thing - Sukiyaki Chicken - it looked really nice in the menu..( it's sad when food arrives..looks NOTHING like the picture -_-! )
THE picture :
nice little pot filled with fresh veggies, spring onions, tofu, mushrooms ; with a nice plate of thinly sliced chicken & an egg in a bowl - it's like a mini steamboat dish
THE actual dish :
a huge pot of brown liquid. yup brown..the colour you would get when you mix 2 servings soy sauce with 1 serving of water. and no..i didn't see much other other than brown. coz even the white tofu is a light brown colour in that soup. the veggies...ohh dear..also sadly and boringly tinted brown as well. hmm....are you feeling sick yet?
i knew when i saw the dish that i would very likely be disappointed..
i was right. i tried a spoonful of the brown soup and..
no it didn't taste like soy sauce with water!
INSTEAD..it tasted like teriyaki sauce.
it was very sweet..abit salty but mostly sweet. it was like drinking sauce..except in a watery soup form.
are you puking yet? i hope not..coz i'm not done yet..
i'm not sure how the dish is supposed to taste like..but surely a good cook knows that when you overload a dish on a particular taste..it ruins the whole dish. for example..curry. you can use the best ingredients..the freshest spices..but if you overload on the spiciness of the gravy..how's anyone gonna enjoy it? people will be concentrating on the overwhelming spice instead of truly enjoying the other flavours of the curry.
i was so sad to find that i won't be getting any thinly sliced chicken where i can cook it myself in the pot. coz the chicken..which was just chunks..not sliced..was already in the brown mess!
it tasted funny..bleurgh..the chicken i mean.
i somehow managed to struggle through the dish..
i poured alot of hot water into the pot..hoping to dilute the stuff into something lighter & drinkable. i gave up. the taste was just BLEURGH..
at one point i resorted to dipping all the veggies & tofu into hot water to get rid of the taste before eating it.
OH! the soup wasn't even hot enough..coz the pathetic little flame there was burned out after awhile..so my egg..was like half cooked - only a thin layer of the yolk was cook so i had a floating yellow ball in my brown soup.
the best thing about that awful thing..was the sole mushroom i found in the pot. ONE.
now..for my verdict ( which i think you've already figured out..)
the sukiyaki chicken...was SUPER-YUCKY
please..DO NOT EVER TRY THAT UNLESS YOU LOVE TERIYAKI SAUCE SO MUCH YOU EAT A BOTTLE A DAY.
S*k*e S*shi isn't a BAD restaurant..although not the best place to have conveyor belt sushi..but THAT dish..is really really atrocious..DOESN'T ANYONE TASTE THE FOOD THEY SELL?

"1 weird phonecall.."
this also happened on saturday. it was after the super-yucky chicken.
Oh..i haven't mentioned that i was at marina square.
so yea i was about to buy icecream when my phone rang..well it vibrated
i took it out of my bag to see a number - that wasn't in my phonebook - reflected on the screen.
so i let it ring for awhile..while i try to recall who it might be..coz it looked like my hair dresser's number but it can't be coz i have her no. stored in my phone.. i didn't pick up the call.
then it finally struck me..
it's this guy i used to see like quite a long time ago...who hasn't contacted me ( which is good coz there's no point in doing so ) since a long time ago.
i was wondering why the heck he would call me now..? so weird laa..it can't be anything good..maybe he saw me at marina square..maybe
but oh well if he did then he did..i'm just glad i didn't see him!

"1 bleh encounter.."
it's about this silly ah beng at my workplace. *sigh* i think he has a crush on me. not that i'm thick skinned or anything but people around me have noticed that he likes to check me out. *sigh* so silly laa!!! he thinks i'm younger than him but in actual fact..i'm 3 year older than him.
SO this happened yesterday when he came into the office looking for superglue. after he got the glue..as he was leaving the office..he lingered at the door..looking at me. i was at my desk..not giving him any extra attention..as usual.
and for some weird reason..he "PSSSSTtttt" me! to get my attention
i thought it was so weird and quite amusing to be PSSSSTtt-ed at so i looked up and gave him a half amused/half puzzled look.
you might think that he was trying to say something to me..but nooooo..he left.
contented that he got a second of my attention.
that's so silly laaa
i told my family about it when i got home..and my sisters have been making fun of the whole PSSSSTtt thing since. i think they might do that to him when they ever come visit me at the office. =P
