i've lost count of how many times i wanted to use that word yesterday. i know it's not an actual word but it really did express how i felt! =P
anywhoooooooosss...here's why..
LUNCH..
headed down to this foodcourt at woodlands' "vista point", a neighbourhood mini shopping mall.
couldn't decide what to eat so i settled for chicken rice, which turned out to be a bad choice.
yikes!
the dish arrived. it looked really messy. like everything was just slapped onto the plate..sauces were drizzled carelessly all over.
first impression truly sucked.
now comes the taste test.
the rice.. was odd. abit dry. wasn't fragrant. doesn't taste like authentic chicken rice.
the chicken.. was just boring. it was quite tender but that was the only good thing about it?
the sauce.. wasn't bad. wasn't good either.
the verdict?
i won't eat it again and certainly WILL NOT recommended to anyone even a starving person.
BLEURGH..
as if one bad meal wasn't enough..i was dealt another blow during dinner! come to think of it, i've never had more than one bad meal in a day!! coz i would some how find myself something good and reliable to make up for a bad meal.
hence the BLEURGH!
on to dinner..
went to j@ck's pl@ce at c@useway p0int..my mum suggested we should go there since it's been years since our last visit. we used to frequent the restaurant often with our cousins..which was really nice =)
i heard the place is good for steaks. unfortunately we don't eat beef so we had to settle for their seafood.
SO..
three different dishes were ordered.
1) fish & chips
2) lamb & fish combo
3) crayfish & chicken combo
my mum, who had the fish & chips, was quite happy with her food. she mentioned that the fish was quite good. so good for her.
my sis, cyn, had the lamb & fish. it came in a sizzling hot plate, the meats were drizzled with a black pepper sauce. it didn't smell appetizing despite the sizzles and sauce..well actually it didn't smell! it was served with a baked potato and some veggies on the side. the fish was ok but the lamb..alittle tough.
her verdict? the potato was the best part of the dish.
now on to the last dish. poor me & my little sis, celine. it was THE WORST dish on the table.
let me first describe the dish.
there was a piece of chicken, one crayfish, baked potato, cauliflower & carrots. all served on a hot plate. the first smell i picked up when the dish arrived..was the fishyness of the crayfish.
not exactly the best way to start off a meal.
anyways, i started off with the chicken. it was utterly disappointing!
there was no flavour what so ever! i mean..if they're not gonna marinate the chicken..the least they can do is cook it with a good gravy?! but the brilliant people behind the menu or the cook..whoever is responsible..decided that there's no need for marinate or gravy! it's like having chicken chop with no sauce.
for some reason they thought that a few strips of onion(there's probably less than 10)..cooked til they're brown..and alot of fried chopped garlic would be enough to enhance the taste of the slice of chicken and the crayfish.
don't even get me started on the crayfish. they fried it? whatever the did to it..they OVERDID it
it was dry and tough..quite unpleasant.
the only good thing about the dish was the carrots.
enough said. the carrots. simple boiled chopped up carrots was the best part of a dish of chicken and crayfish. can you believe that?!
so it's pretty damn obvious now..what my verdict would be.
BLEURGH!
i'm never going back there. i don't know about the other outlets though..but i'm not hopeful coz their menu isn't very spectacular..lacks variety, especially for people who don't eat beef. so i guess it's strictly a steak place.
BLEURGH!
OOps..just received a stack of stuff to do..so back to work!
have a good weekend!
