i actually logged on to the mediacorp forums and addressed Joakim Gomez's fans.

i told them more or less what i blogged earlier but i took out all the insults
there was no slamming of Joakim, no slamming of fans
just told them to rethink their plans and stop voting laa since he's seriously not cut out for singing.
i was expecting some rebuttal from Joakim's die hard fans
but i was quite pleasant surprised when one fan agreed that some of them actually vote blindly.
it went quite ok until the 'super moderator' of the forum decided to slam me back
mind you, i didn't intend to start a war..just wanted to get my opinion out there
but i couldn't just stand there and let some dude insult me when i didn't even insult his precious Joakim.
he slams me for apparently no particular reason
he classified me as one of 'MANY girls' that like Jason Mraz..that really pissed me off coz i think i can safely say i'm one of Mraz's earliest Singaporean fans..not that it makes me superior but i hate it when i'm classified along with the masses
so the whole thing went on for a few pages
until i decided that i had enough.
coz he's the sort that doesn't get his facts right before he starts arguing
i toyed with the idea of disecting all his words and coming up with a post that highlighted all his unfounded criticism and whatever shit he has but i decided that i have better things to do than to waste my time typing a crap load of stuff about someone.

oh and the biggest joke about this so called moderator?
under his forum profile, he lists his occupation as 'Online Critic'

he criticises everyone that doesn't agree with him..hmm..how very professional.

hello..i am also a reader of the forum and i agree with soulman , you, nioxin. In fact you three are the ones who argues sensibly and with substance. You all speak my mind. And soulman is the best.
Also, what they fail to realize aboutt he sisue about the sining criteria is that singing and other lants are co'related. While some debated that if 100 percent is pure vocals then why the looks and other talents are being crticized by the judges and the need to find identity and joakim has all that. What they fail to understand is that the judges meant an identity as a singer who appeals to the mass, not identity on its own. Other talents must co exist with good vocals. IF other talents are important not just vocals then i can simply substitute joakim with kung fu rapper. HE is far more entertaining. The ability to entertain is not independent on its own but rather entertain as an identifiable X factor singer. That's WHAT the judges meant. Lets put it in mathematical concept. Other talents constitute 30 percent.SInging 70 percent. Joakim scored lets say full marks for other talents criteria lets say 27%, singing 10%...total 37 over 100. And being yourself means being yourself through the way you sing, the way you express it to connect with the audience. Vocals and other talents (meaning able to connect with the audience, X factor superstar appeal, a stark remarkable identity...all as a singer not entertainer) they cannot be without the other.
oh ya, and plese tell elvin for me in the forum that he is so stupid that he could not even debate point to point in a coherent manner to soulman. It is so sad that he starts off intelligently but ending up showing his true level of intelligence. And his comebacks are lame and that what soulman is pointing out wasnt at the least comprehended. And to hink sum1 commented that elvin can be a lawyer!! pulease!! tell soulman for me that he speaks my mind. OH and elvin, soulman is deeply insulting you and you're too stupid to even recognize the insult.
